IELTS MATERIALS
At One Worldist, we have a specially tailored, in-house curriculum designed by our experienced IELTS tutors and staff. In addition to this curriculum, teachers use a vast array of materials for their lessons. The difficulty and choice of the materials depends on the student’s level and needs.
In addition to the vocabulary, listening, reading, writing and speaking activities prepared by the IELTS teachers, other core materials and books that we use are produced and written by the following companies:
Barron’s:
Barron’s exercises and tests are of a medium range of difficulty, so they are used in a limited fashion in the pre-IELTS Program, and are used at the beginning of the Preparatory Program.
Cambridge:
Cambridge helps to write the IELTS, so the majority of resources used are Cambridge-made resources. Cambridge Grammar for IELTS is used in the pre-IELTS Program, New Insight into IELTS is used in the Preparatory Program, and the test books volumes 5-9 are used sporadically throughout the program.
IELTS Test Builder:
IELTS Test Builder volumes 1 and 2 offers tests that are useful in helping the student to understand and utilize test-taking techniques and strategies.
**In-class and out-of-class full test simulations are done in order to prepare the student for the flow and duration of the real test.
