TOEIC Preparation
TOEIC courses are taught by professionally certified, experienced native-speaker teachers. Lessons can be one-to-one or in small groups.
One-to-One Lessons
One-to-one lessons can be held at your own location (your home or workplace) or at One World's Beşiktaş and Kozyatağı offices. Lesson days and times are organised to suit the student's schedule. Lessons can be taken every hour between 8.30 in the morning and 10 in the evening. Please call us for detailed information.
Small Group Lessons
Small group lessons are held at One World's Beşiktaş or Kozyatağı office. Classes consist of groups of a maximum of 8 people. Lessons can be scheduled according to the group's preferred time and programme.
Our Methodology
At One World there are programmes specially designed for every student, from level A to Z, according to each student's own level and the score they want to achieve. A placement test is given before TOEIC lessons begin. The test results are evaluated by expert instructors and education consultants. The result of the test shows where the student should start. The experts tell students roughly how long and how often (how many hours/days per week) a programme they should take. Throughout the programme, the TOEIC instructor uses many different resources, materials and techniques aimed at the targeted score.
What is TOEIC?
TOEIC is prepared by ETS and is used to determine the level of English. TOEIC is known as one of the most widely used exams worldwide for measuring the English proficiency of employees.

How is the TOEIC Exam Scored?
TOEIC includes 2 different tests. The Listening and Reading test is scored out of 990, while the separate TOEIC Speaking and Writing exam can be taken optionally. There is also another test called TOEIC Bridge for beginner to intermediate students. It consists of Listening and Reading sections and is scored out of 160. There is no negative marking for any of the tests. The total score is made up of the listening and reading scores.
TOEIC Study Materials
At One World we have our own curriculum, developed in-house by our experienced TOEIC experts. In addition to this curriculum, teachers support the lessons with extra materials. The choice of materials and the level of difficulty vary according to the student's level and goal. Alongside the vocabulary, writing, reading and listening materials prepared by the teacher, other core TOEIC books and materials are used as well. There are many suitable TOEIC books available; one of the main resources One World uses is Longman, supported by many books from Barron's, Kaplan and other publishers.
